Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy

Rescue Remedy is a blend of five different flower remedies, available in a small dropper bottle. There is also a pocket sized spray available as standard Rescue Remedy or Rescue Night with the addition of White Chestnut to help calm anxious looping thoughts.

"This mix was created by Dr Bach to deal with emergencies and crises - the moments when there is no time to make a proper individual selection of remedies. It can be used to help us get through any stressful moments, from last-minute exam nerves to the aftermath of an accident."

Our Top 3 Herb Teas for Anxiety Relief

Chamomile

Chamomile tea is excellent for calming stress and anxiety, and also helps treat insomnia. Chamomile can help relax muscles too.

How to prepare: For fresh tea, put a heaped teaspoon of chamomile flowers in a cup of hot water and infuse for 3-5 minutes.

Ananga's favourite store bought varieties are Three Chamomile Tea by Pukka Herbs and Puka Relax a soothing infusion of chamomile flowers, oat flowering tops, fennel seed and marshmallow root.

Note: Not all chamomile teas are created equal. Many tea suppliers add the stems of the flower to their blends, which is less beneficial and adds a bitter "grassy" taste. The most beneficial part of chamomile is the flower, specifically the pollen, so make sure your tea contains whole flowers and nothing else!

Lemon Balm Tea

Lemon Balm is beautifully fragrant and calming herb that belongs to the mint family. It reduces stress and is the perfect day time anti-anxiety tea as it is very relaxing without causing drowsiness. Lemon Balm will also lift your spirits.

Lavender Tea

Also part of the same fragrant family as mint, lavender has been grown for centuries for its uplifting scent and its ability to soothe tension and aid relaxation.

Lavender blends beautifully with rose for a soothing flowery relaxing tea.

Bedtime Almond Milk Drink

This is a great natural remedy for calming anxiety and helping you settle into relaxed sleep.

Make a cup of warm almond milk, and add a small pinch of nutmeg and saffron. The milk helps you get to sleep and nutmeg helps you stay asleep! Saffron is soothing to the heart.

Have a look around for good quality almond milk - buy organic where possible and look for a higher percentage of almonds. The best one we've found in the UK is by Rude Health and contains nothing but 8% almonds and spring water.

Make your own almond milk with this simple recipe from Wellness Mama.

Natural Calm Magnesium Drink

Natural Calm is a fruity, effervescent drink that promotes healthy magnesium levels. It is high quality and easily absorbed. We both use this once or twice daily as a nutritional supplement and also for muscle relaxation and calm - our favourite flavour is Lemon and Raspberry.

Magnesium is one of the most abundant minerals in the body, and it has a significant role when it comes to supporting health and wellness. Every cell in the body contains it and needs it to function.
