Unable to Relax and Taking Things Personally

In this week's podcast we're responding to the following question:

"I seem unable to relax. I take everything so personally, and that makes me react in ways I do not want to react."

Tips for dealing with taking things personally

Question your feelings

Take a pause and ask yourself is this really about me?

Maybe the other person means no harm, maybe they are having an off day. Maybe they're too wrapped up in their own problems to be really directing anything at you.

Maybe they have poor communication skills.

Question the other persons's intentions

If you're not sure about a communication or comment and it leaves you feeling uncomfortable ask for more details.

Spend a few minutes each morning building your self-esteem.

Read something positive and inspiring. There are some greet books that can help you get more settle with yourself.  Look at Louise Hay, Iyanla Vanzant and others.

Learn EFT tapping and spend a few minutes each day tapping on your feelings. It's a great way to calm your mind and unearth your personal resources and coping skills.

Try Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy spray to help you reduce stress and relax and also to reduce anxiety and give you a bit of a buffer when you are around others.

Try a simple breathing practice to help calm your mind and relax your body.

And use guided relaxations to help you unwind and relax.
